Liz Hackett

Liz has extensive experience across all aspects of healthcare advice and litigation, working with NHS trusts, private health providers and the public sector. Her primary practice areas are inquests and inquiries, statutory and non-statutory investigations (including serious incident investigations, prison and probation ombudsman investigations, IOPC investigations, domestic homicide reviews and serious case reviews) and mental health law. She is an experienced advocate in the coroners court and in tribunals. Liz has an expertise in forensic healthcare services, including extensive knowledge of offender healthcare and prison policy and procedures.

Liz supports trusts in undertaking both internal and arms-length investigations in relation to all aspects of patient safety and care. In addition, Liz works closely with NHS trusts to deliver bespoke patient safety and risk management training in areas such as duty of candour, learning from deaths and incidents, and serious incident investigations.
